  Shown in Figures 1 through 5 is a wideband voltage controlled source that uses two voltage controlled oscillators, one mixer, and  two amplifiers to produce an output power of 2 +/- 4 dBm at frequencies from 25 to 1025 MHz (see Figures 6 & 7 for frequency & power plots).

  For additional information about the printed circuit board assembly mounted inside the SRC1K aluminum housing, see  Figures 8 and 9.  The block diagram of Figure 10 defines each stage contained on the printed circuit board.

  Subassemblies required to energize and control the SRC1K are defined in Figure 11.  Additional information on each sub-assembly is available by clicking on the hyperlinks displayed below Figure 11.  DC operating parameters are shown in Table 1.

  Information about using the SRC1K for swept frequency (ΔF) response testing of filters, amplifiers, couplers and other devices is available by clicking on this hyperlink, DELTA F.

  When tuned through the 825 to 1025 MHz range, the SRC1K will generate spurious output power levels in the 30 to 435 MHz range.    This could cause errors when measuring the response of broadband devices so a 500 MHz Highpass Filter connected to the SRC1K output is required when tuned to this frequency range.  Click on this hyperlink, SPURIOUS, for additional information.
